John Singh · the terms for jobs bought from me directly · updated 4 October 2026
RosterPress order passes are sold under their own
product terms,
refund policy and
privacy note, not these terms. The terms below are for
freelance jobs and haven’t changed.
These terms apply to every job you buy from me directly, whether you pay from a button
on the services page or from a link I email you. Work booked through a
marketplace follows that marketplace’s terms. They’re short on purpose. If anything here is unclear,
ask me before you pay.
Who you’re working with
John Singh, a freelance Shopify developer working as a sole proprietor in New York, USA. You can
reach me at johnnassersingh@gmail.com.
What you’re buying
The job is what the services page says for that offer on the day you pay, or the written scope
we agree by email before you pay.
Anything outside that scope gets its own fixed price, agreed in writing before it starts.
Theme work happens on a duplicate of your theme, and you decide when to publish it. For work in
your store’s settings, such as tracking or product data, I tell you what I’ll change before I
change it.
Payment
Prices are in US dollars (USD) and fixed. If you’re outside the US, Stripe’s checkout may offer
to charge you in your own currency, at Stripe’s exchange rate, which includes a conversion fee; you
see the price in your currency before you pay. If you pay in US dollars instead, your bank sets the
exchange rate and any fee.
You pay in full, up front, through Stripe, by card or another payment method its checkout
offers, from the Pay now button on an offer or from a link I email you. Stripe shows a
confirmation when you pay, and you get a receipt by email.
If you start by email, nothing is charged until we’ve agreed the scope.
Your card details go to Stripe. I never see your full card number.
Working days
Turnarounds are in working days and refunds in business days. Both mean Monday to Friday, not
counting US federal holidays.
I confirm within one working day of your order that the job can be done as described.
The working days start when I have what the job needs, usually your approval of my
collaborator request, and they pause while I’m waiting on you for feedback, content, an account
sign-in or your sign-off on a plan.
There’s no rush option and no rush fee.
Your part
Approve my collaborator request, with the permissions the job needs. I never ask for your
password or a staff login.
Send what the offer lists under “You send”.
When a job needs a test order, place it yourself and refund it. I never touch your payment
settings.
When a job connects Google, Meta or TikTok, sign in to your own accounts when Shopify asks.
Only send me content, images and code you have the right to use.
Delivery, adjustments and fixes
With every job you get plain-English notes on what changed.
Ask for adjustments, inside the written scope, within 7 days of delivery. Once they’re done, or
the 7 days pass, the job is complete.
For 14 days after delivery, anything my work broke is fixed free. Changes made afterwards by
you, an app or a theme update aren’t covered, and anything new gets its own fixed price.
Once you’ve paid, what I build for your store is yours to keep, change and use on your
store.
Cancellations and refunds
For a RosterPress order pass, see its own
refund policy. The refunds below are for freelance jobs.
Before I start. Cancel any time before the working days start and you get a
full refund.
If the job can’t be done as described. If I look at your store and the work
can’t be done as the offer describes, you get a full refund and I tell you what I found. You don’t
pay for a diagnosis.
If a guarantee isn’t met. Where an offer on the services page carries a
guarantee and the work doesn’t meet it, you get a full refund for that job.
If you want to stop part-way. Tell me, and I stop, hand over what’s done, and
refund the part of the price for the work not yet done.
After delivery. Apart from the cases above, a job delivered as described isn’t
refunded. The 7 days of adjustments and 14 days of fixes are there for anything that isn’t
right.
When a refund is due, I issue it within one business day, through Stripe, to the card or account
you paid with. Banks usually take 5 to 10 business days to show it on your statement. If you paid in
your own currency at Stripe’s checkout, a refund gives back exactly what you paid.
If something goes wrong
Email me first. I reply within one working day and put it right as these terms describe, by
fixing it or refunding it. That’s almost always quicker than a card dispute.
Nothing here takes away any right you have under the law or with your card issuer.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
What I don’t promise
A particular PageSpeed score, a ranking in search or AI shopping tools, traffic, conversion
rates or sales. Lab scores move from one run to the next, and apps and later changes can add
weight after I’ve finished. What I do guarantee is written on each offer.
The most I’m responsible for on any job is what you paid for it.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. The terms on the day you pay are the ones
that apply to your job. How I handle your details is on the privacy
page.
